Sébastien Robert

Sébastien Robert’s (Field Records) work is the result of several encounters and experiences across the globe. Wherever he lived, he tried to get a grasp of the local culture and caught the atmosphere that he later implements in his own music. He managed to create his own musical identity, an exquisitely sonorous world occasionally full or imagery, abstract at times, then more comfortable, therefore constantly destabilising the listener. Master’s student at the ArtScience Interfaculty of The Hague, his ongoing research project You’re no Bird of Paradise focuses on traditional music and rituals that are in danger of disappearing.
