What is the emotional and sensual side of hardware, software and algorithms? How is identity constructed or the body represented in virtual environments? How do concepts of gender and identity norms change in the digital space, and how do they open the discussion on their real-world implications and speculations on their possible futures? NXS WORLD is a collaborative artwork that explores what the “self” is in the age of digital technology.
NXS takes the form of a cross-disciplinary platform with an experimental publication at its core. NXS – standing for nexus – creates its content by building a network of contributors. An introductory piece sets an array of responses from one contributor to another in motion, creating a constellation of personal viewpoints, experiences and stories. NXS extends itself to different formats of content creation and reflection beyond the printed format with exhibitions, artworks, public events and a working lab.
